Mechanical Federal Lead
|

As Akela’s Mechanical Federal Lead, Greg dedicates his time to nurturing his team, engaging in networking opportunities, and ensuring issues are swiftly resolved.

Initially set on pursuing a master’s and Ph.D. in the biomechanical engineering field, his life’s trajectory was altered, and a twist of fate led him to a small consulting firm. What sets Greg’s work apart is the absence of routine in his day. He thrives on unpredictability, embracing the challenge of tackling new and distinct projects. His day-to-day responsibilities are as diverse as they are critical, as he dedicates his time to nurturing his mechanical engineering team, ensuring that issues are swiftly resolved, and questions addressed. He also actively engages with clients, maintaining strong relationships through lunch meetings and engaging in networking opportunities.

Greg Veca’s journey through his career has been marked by notable achievements, both within and beyond the professional realm. His deep passion for engineering finds an outlet in his role as a professor at San Diego State University, his alma mater. Teaching has been a long-held aspiration, and it allows him to bring his extensive working experience to the classroom, enriching the learning experience for his students.

Greg is passionate about teaching the next generation of engineers and ensuring they are ready for the workforce upon graduating: I strive to bridge the gap between academia and the real world.
